The Ugly Duckling is here to provide the daily needs to anyone who is struggling and just needs that helping hand. Food, medicine, clothes, children's toys, and even an education are provided without cost at the Duckling! And on certain days, it is a place to sit and talk about life. Sometimes you just need a good ear!
Founded by Nivaar Swann, Lord of House Swann; the Ugly Duckling operates independently and all donations remain within it's own coffers. None of it's monetary or physical donations will be used for anything other than Ugly Duckling needs!

While the Ugly Duckling may have been started by an Ishgardian House, the life blood of the Duckling are the volunteers that work here! Every single one is here because they want to be and want to offer what help they can to ease the troubles left behind by the War!

In The Foundation!
Just outside the new housing district, The Empyreum, The Ugly Duckling is nestled in the Brume in an easy to get to location for all to enter!((Crystal Data Center: Balmung- Ingleside Wing 1 Room #42, 14th Ward, Empyreum))
The Ugly Duckling Offers:
Food: Everyday the Ugly Duckling provides breakfast and lunch to anyone who walks through the door! (Dinners will not be provided at the establishment, however to-go meals can be made on request!)
Clothes and Toys: Be it a new shirt, a pair of boots, or just some long undergarments to stave off the cold nights, the Ugly Duckling can provide! Toys will also be gifted to any child that walks through the door!
Medical Care: Got the sniffles? Need help getting rid of that cough? The Ugly Duckling has two certified menders who work as volunteers and they will be more than happy to take your temperature!
Education: On certain days volunteer teachers will be at the Ugly Duckling to provide free lessons in reading, writing, mathematics, and world history!
